Expert Answers about Trimmer Racks

  • How to Orientate the Installation of the Pack'Em Single Trimmer Rack # PK-6S on Trailer
  • With the Pack'Em Single Trimmer Rack # PK-6S I would recommend having the motor of the trimmer facing the front of the trailer. The motor side mount fully latches around the trimmer whereas the other side requires you to angle the trimmer in to get it in place. It would be nearly impossible for this side of the trimmer to come out while traveling, but with it mounted behind the motor side this risk would get eliminated. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Will Trimmers Flip Upside Down During Travel with Pack'em Trimmer Rack
  • The Pack'em Trimmer Rack # PK-6S-6S2 that you referenced actually features a padded piece on the front latch that's specifically designed to prevent the trimmer from moving around (along with protecting its finish during travel). This creates a tight attachment that will keep a standard size trimmer from flipping upside down like you described. I have attached a couple images that further clarify this below.

  • Our contact at Pack'Em has advised us that the trimmer rack # PK-6 can be mounted on a trailer with a tubular frame. The mounting hardware is not included. • What Type of Hardware Should be Used to Install RackEm Trimmer Rack to 2x4s in an Enclosed Trailer
  • The hardware would not have to go all the way into the frame when installing trimmer rack # RA-5. Since it is meant to hold 3 trimmers the weight of the rack and trimmers would not necessitate an installation through the 2x4s and into the frame. So you would only need some 3/8 wood screws that are slightly less long than the 2x4 is thick. A lumber industry standard 2x4 apparently is not exactly 2 inches by 4 inches but 1-1/2 by 3-1/2 (or close to it). So 1 inch long screws would work.

  • How Close to the Rear of the Trailer Can the Pack Em Trimmer Rack Support Be Positioned
  • The Pack Em Trimmer Rack # PK-6 does not have a specified distance from the back of your trailer. The uprights are to be spaced a minimum of 3 feet apart, but the rear most support can be at the very back of the trailer if you desire, but in that case you would need to put a red flag on the end of your trimmer. For a minimum distance, you can put the engine end of the trimmer at the furthest point back and then determine how far in from the end a support can be placed based on that. My...

  • Installing the Pack'Em Rack for Open Utility Trailers on a Trailer with 24 inch Tall Side Rails

Installing it in this manner would not interfere with the conduit either. In the install notes Pack'Em makes it very clear that this should be bolted to a trailer with Grade 8 hardware.
